Kendra Farve is an enrolled citizen of the Chickasaw Nation, with Choctaw and Muscogee (Creek) heritage from Ardmore, Oklahoma. As a self-taught artist, her work is inspired by her family, her travels, and the teachings of her Elders. She currently serves as the director of the Chickasaw Nation Language Revitalization Program, where her passion for preserving the Chickasaw language and culture continues to shape her artistic perspective. Through her works she hopes to honor stories, relationships, and traditions that have been passed down for generations. When she is not painting,
she enjoys writing, researching Chickasaw ethnohistory, and spending time with her nieces and nephews as a proud auntie.
