About the Author
Author

Gabriel Cannon is a Chickasaw citizen, also of Muscogee (Creek) and Euro-American lineage. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science from the University of Oklahoma, and received his master’s degree in Dietetics from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He became a licensed and registered dietitian in 2015. Gabriel has worked with the Chickasaw Nation for over sixteen years promoting nutrition and health. In 2017, he received a NextGen Under 30 award for his community leadership. Gabriel currently resides in Blanchard, Oklahoma, and enjoys spending time with his family and playing stickball with his wife Beverly.

Chris Wallace is a Choctaw citizen and the founder and president of creativeMINDS DATA located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Chris’s creative interests include photography, graphic design, digital illustration, and video production. He started designing and drawing at a young age and is mostly self-taught. His passion for seeing the world through the eyes of others and bringing it to life in creative form is a gift he has shared with numerous tribes, corporations, nonprofit organizations, and schools.
